Nancy
Dixon
Nancy
Dixon is a specialist in the subject of measuring and improving
quality of healthcare services. She has worked in the field of healthcare
quality and clinical audit for over 25 years in the UK, the Middle
East and the US. She is Director of Strategic Services for Healthcare
Quality Quest and is involved in the following activities: developing
strategies related to measuring, monitoring and accounting for the
quality of healthcare; enabling multiprofessional groups to develop
a vision of future healthcare services; facilitating clinical groups
to redesign professional roles and identify new competences needed;
and creating and authoring policy and educational publications.
She
is a psychologist with the following qualifications in healthcare
quality: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (US); Fellow
of the Institute of Quality Assurance (UK); Fellow of the National
Association for Healthcare Quality (US); and Registered Senior Consultant
of the Institute of Quality Assurance. She is the author of books
and articles on healthcare quality topics published in the UK, the
US and the Middle East.
Previously
in the US, Nancy was responsible for development and training related
to accreditation standards on audit and quality at the Joint Commission
on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and she developed and
implemented clinical risk management programmes. In the Middle East,
she was responsible, on behalf of a government ministry, for overseeing
quality of healthcare services provided in 12 hospitals operated
under management contract.
