Root
Cause Analysis Workshop
Clinical
teams have to be able to analyse adverse events or near misses that
occur in the delivery of patient care as part of an effective clinical
risk management programme. Some clinical groups have developed an
open and enquiring attitude toward the analysis of events that harm
or could harm patients or staff. But clinical teams and clinical
service managers often benefit from learning how to carry out root
cause analysis of an adverse event.
In
order to involve as many clinical staff as possible, we offer the
workshop at a local level and at a time most convenient to the participants.
We travel to your organization and provide the workshop onsite.
Who
the workshop is for
The
workshop is designed for clinical staff and managers of clinical
services who have responsibility for leading and for participating
in clinical risk management in their services. Clinical risk managers
and clinical governance facilitators will benefit from learning
how to facilitate clinical teams to carry out root cause analysis.
What's
included
Participants
receive a copy of a book that includes principles, step-by-step
guidance, examples and practical assignments to do in the workshop.
The book can be used as a reference book later or to help others
understand the principles. Contact us for detailed information regarding
costs.

Changing
Clinical Practice Workshop
This
workshop is intended to enable staff to understand what's involved
in achieving and maintaining changes in clinical practice. The workshop
reviews current research evidence about achieving changes in clinical
behaviour and suggests how to apply the findings.
The
workshop provides a model I-M-P-R-O-V-E-S to help
people remember all the stages needed and the right sequence of
the stages to achieve and maintain change. It also provides techniques
teams can use to carry out the stages in the model and opportunities
to think about how the model can be applied in actual work situations.
We
offer the workshop locally or regionally on request on a date convenient
to your organization. We provide the workshop in your local venue
in order to enable a maximum number of clinicians and managers to
work together to plan changes in practice.
Who
the workshop is for
The
workshop is intended for individuals who will assume responsibility
for achieving or helping to achieve changes in clinical practice.
Clinicians, managers, clinical effectiveness and clinical audit
facilitators, quality development managers, clinical governance
leads and managers will benefit from participation in the workshop.
What's
included
The
participants receive a book that includes a summary of research
evidence on methods for changing clinical practice and a practical
approach to planning and implementing change in clinical practice.
The book is for use during the workshop and for later reference
or use in teaching others within the organization. Contact us for
detailed information about costs.

Writing
for Publication Workshop
We've
observed that many people working in their own clinical settings
have carried out improvement or clinical effectiveness projects,
clinical audits, formal evaluation studies or research projects
that really make an important difference to patients, users or staff.
Often, the work has been well designed with evidence supporting
the benefits.
Surprisingly,
the people involved in creating exciting, innovative solutions to
long-standing problems don't think of publishing their work. They
have done all the steps from researching existing literature to
repeating baseline measurement to show improvements in service.
But they are so daunted by the publication process that they don't
think of publishing!
We
provide this one-day Writing for Publication Workshop for regional
or local groups on site, at a time most convenient to you.
Who
the workshop is for
The
workshop is intended for staff who have carried out an improvement
or clinical effectiveness project or a clinical audit or a research
or evaluation study and want to write either a report or an article
about their work. It is also for staff who have to write other important
materials such as information for users or patients. Staff who have
previous experience in submitting material for publication also
will find the workshop of value in updating their knowledge of the
publication process.
What's
included
Each
participant receives a book that includes reference material and
practical assignments to complete in the workshop. Contact us to
discuss the cost of this workshop.
